Quote:I absolutely loved the levity that this eppy provided! You're right, Erin, it had a feeling of closure. I'm sure the writers were trying to create a minifinale in case it turned out to be the last of the season, and Robert winning Michigan and getting one step closer to the Republican nomination provided that kind of a feel.
Quote:The preview said something about Nora finding out that Isaac wasn't the man she thought or hoped. I sure didn't see anything of the sort. Sure, he's a workaholic, but she knew that already. She didn't seem disillusioned in the slightest. Maybe that was tweaked because of the writers' strike? I hope that's not an indication that Danny Glover isn't there for the long haul. I really like him.

Quote:I really hope they don't de-Walker Rebecca. That would negate so much of what we've watched over the last season and a half. It would be really stupid imo.

...the issue of Rebecca's paternity is "one of the main questions" that drives the final four episodes, teases Schapker, who adds that there's a shocking twist involving Rebecca and Justin "that no one is going to see coming." In other words, the twist that we have seen coming all these months? It's bigger than that...
Question: You recently posted about one of the Walkers finding themselves at the "center of an intervention, of sorts." Any more hints as to whom this tidbit concerns? - Scott Ausiello: Let's just say that Justin, Sarah, Kitty, Kevin and Balthazar Getty find out about Nora's plans to pack up and move away with Isaac, and they're a wee bit worried. Ask Ausiello Ginny in New York: How about some love for Brothers & Sisters? Gladly! I'm hearing there will be a wedding at the end of this season! But not necessarily the most traditional kind as opposed to the commitment-ceremony-ish kind. Gee, did I give away which Walker it might be?... Watch with Kristin
Question: Give me something on Brothers & Sisters - preferably something extra scoopy. - Aidan Ausiello: Two significant, albeit recurring, characters will not be returning in the fall. Question: Are we really going to have to sit through a Rob Lowe presidency on Brothers & Sisters? - Gail Ausiello: Not if Crossing Jordan's Ken Howard has anything to say about it. He's just been cast as McCallister's chief rival for the Republican nomination, and let's just say he makes Robert an offer he might not be able to refuse. Ask Ausiello Season three is a go! That's what I'm hearing from sources on the set of ABC's addictive drama Brothers & Sisters: that it has been picked up for the 2008-09 TV season. And the best news? (Drumroll, please.) We get 27 episodes. Yes, an extra five whole hours of the best dang family around, the Walkers.
Oh, and speaking of that holy "W" moniker, I have a little inside intel on the upcoming storyline that will rock your world (at least it did mine!) when the show returns April 20. But before you read, heed this SPOILER ALERT! And don't read any further if you don't want to know...
From what I hear, producers are most definitely steaming up some kind of love connection between Rebecca "Walker" and Justin "Walker"...So clearly, one of those two gorgeous kids... is actually not biologically linked to William or Nora. And even better? You don't have to wait very long to find out. I'm told the bio line is answered definitively in one of the first three episodes back-and the chemistry can't be missed. All together now: Gaaaaah!
[Bonus: We know these two have real chemistry, since Emily VanCamp (Rebecca) and Dave Annable (Justin) were dating each other in real life until recently.]
From everything else I hear, there will be lots of good juice when B&S returns this season for all the Walkers, including a deep love affair for Nora (yay!), wedding bells for another Walker and a reappearance of William Walker in episode 16. Watch with Kristin

All in all, I'd give the eppy a C. It seemed that everyone was trying too hard to recapture "that old feeling", but it just wasn't there. For me at least. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that the writers are trying to get from point A to point Z in a very limited amount of time to finish the season. Hopefully the future eppys will be smoother sailing. Leslie

Most notably affected by the time crunch was Kitty's and Robert's decision to move forward with starting a family. Last I recall, Robert was on the fence and now it seems he's full steam ahead. I'm not sure if he's really come around to the idea or if he's only placating Kitty's wishes. I realize that the show took a three month time leap forward and that Robert is no longer campaigning, but if those factors influenced the baby-making decision, I think the writers needed to do a better job of connecting those dots.
I didn't really understand Saul's tiff with Sarah either. Where is that coming from? And speaking of Saul, what became of his potential love interest?

Yet despite her fine work, VanCamp is also trapped in one of the season's most self-destructively idiotic plot twists: the "de-Walkering" of Rebecca and the introduction of sexual tension between her and Justin (Dave Annable), a man who, up until a week ago, thought he was her brother.
Sunday, the show tries to play that tension first for laughs, then for drama, both unsuccessfully. Never mind that changing Rebecca's parentage makes a mash of everything that has come before and pretty much destroys her mother's character: The mere hint of isn't-but-could-have-been incest is enough to make people's skin crawl. And either way the story progresses, with them united or estranged, it's apt to be annoying. Brothers can be whiny, melodramatic and absurd, but it has always been saved by our fondness for the actors and characters. Undermine that, and you really cut the cord. "Self destructively idiotic".........yep. That's why I stayed in denial for so long. The only good thing I can say about his twist is that EVC really delivered. She blew that confrontation with David out of the water. This may be a stretch, but that's about the finest performance I've seen on this show. But, it wasn't worth the cost. I did enjoy the Robert/Kitty VP/baby plot. Ever since Kitty got pregnant, she's been more interested in settling down imo. She still loves politics, but I think her focus has shifted. I'm not sure how much of a difference that really makes now though, given that Robert's not running for President or VP.
Sarah potentially losing Ojai Foods feels like a redux of the financial straits the business was in last year right before money miraculously fell from the sky.

Nora. Holly. Smackdown. Season-two finale. Reserve your front-row seats now. They are friends at the moment, but Patricia Wettig warns, "It won't always be that way."
According to executive producer Monica Owusu-Breen, season three will about taking the characters outside of their familial comfort zones and seeing them branch out in their careers and relationships... Greg Berlanti says there will be a couple of major cliffhangers in the finale, including a huge reveal...(Gah?! Is William Walker secretly alive or something?! What could it be?) Watch with Kristin
