I just watched the eppy and I must say that it wasn't up to their usual standard. Maybe I'm just overly sensitive, but I was extremely disappointed with Justin's intervention. I agree with you, Erin, that it was rushed from point A to Z, with Justin acquiescing far too quickly for my liking.

There were elements I enjoyed, particularly him "biting back" when they ambushed him, and I loved loved loved Kitty telling him she was there because she loved him despite the fact that she was still "bleeding and aching" from the miscarriage. Damn. That was my favorite scene. He couldn't continue his tirade after that.

What made me uncomfortable with the intervention was the fact that the writers tried to play up the humorous points of his detox. The vomitting, the talk of confronting the dealer, etc. I just failed to see the humor. I do realize that they often try to find the humor in the most morose of situations (like last season beginning with a death in the pool and ending with a pool party), and I do appreciate that. However, I just didn't find anything humorous about Justin having to get the monkey off his back again. Maybe it's just me.

Tommy's initial reaction to Justin felt the most real to me. Lashing out in anger and not believing that this time will be any different. That's human, I think. We have seen Justin relapse many times, so I can only imagine how many times before Justin claimed to be getting sober only to fall right back into the old habits.

I agree about Saul's coming out. Beautifully understated. He'll never be carrying the rainbow flag in any Gay Pride parades, but he's made a huge step in his life by coming out to Nora. Kevin and Nora each trying to keep Saul's confidence, not knowing that the other was aware, was a hoot.

Next eppy looks awesome! How many more do we have, Erin?

Michael: Ladies and gentlemen, I have some bad news. Meredith was hit by a car. It happened this morning in the parking lot.
I took her to the hospital, and the doctors tried to save her life. They did the best that they could.
And she is going to be okay.

Stanley: What is wrong with you? Why did you have to phrase it like that?
Andy: Did you see who did it?
Dwight: No need. We can just check the security tapes.
Michael: Kind of a good news/bad news there.
I was able to be on the scene so quickly because I was in the car that hit her.

Jim: Who was driving?
[Silence]
Pam: Oh, Michael.

One day Michael came in complaining about a speed bump on the highway.
I wonder who he ran over then?

Michael: I ran down Meredith in my car.
Ryan: Did you do this on purpose?
Michael: No. I was being negligent.
